How to... > Google
When you register you site with Google you have to verify to Google that you are the owner of the site. You can either add a meta tag to your home page or upload an HTML file...
Using WebsiteX5 it is very easy to use either of these methods.
Using the meta tag
First the meta tag. When you choose to add a meta tag. Google gives you a piece of code which you have to add to your start page. Normally this is the home page of your WebsiteX5 site.
Just copy the meta-tag to the clip board...
Next edit your hope page and add an empty HTML Code object. You can use any open space or, if there isn't any add an extra row at the end of the page and create the HTML Object in this bottom row. Set the height of the HTML Code object to 5 pixels (this is the minimum value).
Next click on the Page Properties button in the HTML Code Object.
Go to the Advanced-tab and paste the code in the field 'Code to add in the page header'
Klik OK.
Next Export your site. When the export has finished you can go Back to Google let Google verify your site.
Using the html file

This method is even easier! Google gives you the name of an HTML file which must be present on the server.
Just copy the part of the file name before '.html' to the clipboard.
Now go to the map creation dialog and create a new page and make this a hidden page. You now can give the page the name that Google will be looking for or a more descriptive name, for example 'Google verification'.
Only when you use the more descriptive name you must select the file name click on the Page Properties. Check the checkbox with the label 'File name' and paste the filename into the field.
Click on Ok and export your site. Google can now verify the site...
