So how can you implement all this in your own website? WebsiteX5 offers two places where you can define your meta tags. First of all in the General Settings dialog, but also in the Page properties of each page you have defined in your site.
The properties which you can set in the General Setting are used for all the pages which haven't got their own properties defined. You could use it to set the meta-tags for the home page.
Properties per page
If you seriously want to get a better page rank then don't rely on the General Settings for the title, description and keywords for your websites pages
Per page you can define the Page Properties by selecting the page in the Map Creation dialog and by clicking on the Page Properties button in the Toolbar.
The extended page title will become the value of the <title>-tag for the page. In the menu you will still see the title of the page which you have set in the Map creation dialog, but on the resulting html-page the extended page title is used. So for example in the menu you will see 'Contact us' on the corresponding menu button, but the page title could be 'Contact us for more information on handmade dolls and wooden carts'.
You really also should set the description for the page, so you can describe the content of the individual pages. You should also set the keywords for the individual pages, so the keywords reflect the content of the page. The result will be that your pages will receive a better ranking.
And yes, you'll have to do this for all your pages!
After you have published a (test-)version of your site on the internet you can use one of the many meta-tags analyzers around to check your work.
For the Netherland you can for example use www.metatags.nl to analyze one page of your site and get some general advice. An English example can be found at www.linkvendor.com.
